Consultant Lin Che-kit Held Seminar in Our Center



August 13, 2013. Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Center and consultant of Shanghai Blood Center Dr Lin Che-kit was invited to give the seminar entitled “Blood inventory management and clinical communication” in the multi-purpose hall on the 4th floor in SBC. The seminar was hosted by Deputy Director Shen Xingfeng. The Director of Institute of Blood Transfusion Qian Kaicheng also attended the opening talk of the seminar. 


Dr Lin Che-kit was an outstanding expert in the field of pathology and blood bank management. He is the academician of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and Royal Australian College of Pathologists, works as CEO of Red Cross Blood Center and holds many other posts. As academic consultant of our Center, Dr Lin provides us with suggestions about blood bank management every year. He expressed the gratitude of being invited again to give a presentation in our Center. During this seminar, he introduced the work of Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service Center in blood bank management and clinical communication, including clinical blood use charged by transfusion committee, how the customers committee focuses on the interests of consumers, the establishment of communication platform between central blood bank and hospitals, and 24-hours blood service for hospitals. Suggestions were offered based on data analysis about how to enhance safety of blood transfusion. 


Despite of the high air temperature, people from SBC, hospitals and suburban blood banks, totally 99 people attended the seminar. The participants and Dr Lin communicated lively after the training course. Dr Lin expressed his wish to come to Shanghai and hold such seminar every year in the future, and stayed longer in Shanghai. He also intended to improve the collaboration and communication with our Center through lecture and on-site guidance.
