From July 22 to 23, the article review and finalization meeting for the 12^th National Congress of CSBT was held in Weihai, Shandong Province. ZHU Yongming, the president of CSBT, LIU Jiaxin, the vice president and the chair of the Scientific Committee, HU Xiaoyu, the deputy chair of the Scientific Committee, along with the heads of each scientific project, article review experts, and secretariat participated in the meeting.

President ZHU expressed his welcome and gratitude to all delegates for their efforts in the congress preparing work. He indicated that the efficient and high-quality preliminary work has established a solid basis for the congress opening on September 25, and ensured the subsequent processes in the event. 

In the meeting, vice president LIU introduced the preparations and work schedule for this congress. He mentioned that since the establishment of this year’s Scientific Committee, it has organized 5 work meetings, and received a total of 2,206 submissions, including 1,516 full papers and 690 abstracts, reaching a historical peak.

PAN Jian, the editorial director of the Clinical Transfusion and Laboratory Medicine magazine conducted a detailed analysis of different submissions by type, region, institution and author. He demonstrated that the source of this year’s submissions were quite wide, covering 31 provinces and regions, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

HU Xiaoyu indicated that, as a co-organizer of this year’s congress, Anhui Provincial Blood Center attaches great importance to this event, and has made adequate preparations in term of venues, conference services and hotels, to welcome the arrival of peers in the field of blood transfusion.

Following discussion and evaluation, each project proposed a list for guiding reports, oral presentations, and poster exhibitions. Meanwhile, articles recommended for publication in the Journal of Clinical Transfusion and Laboratory Medicine magazine were submitted.

In the end, vice president LIU concluded and announced the successfully completion of this article review and finalization meeting for the congress.
