On August 8, 2024, the National Training Course on Continuous Promotion of Haemovigilance was held in Liaoning, organized by CSBT, undertaken by the Working Party on Haemovigilance (CSBT/HV), and co-organized by Chongqing Blood Center and Liaoning Blood Center.

Major leaders, including YU Gongyi from the Health Safety and Blood Management office of the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, ZHU Yongming, the president of CSBT, WANG Gege, the inspector of the Medical Emergency Department of the Liaoning Provincial Health Commission, and LIANG Hongjun, the director of Shenyang Municipal Health Commission, presented and addressed in the conference. Furthermore, this course attracted nearly 300 peers from 28 provinces.

At the opening ceremony, president ZHU emphasized the significance of holding this course in the city of Shenyang, where China’s transfusion industry launched. In addition, he acknowledged the achievements of Liaoning Province and Shenyang City in the field of blood services and expressed his hope for the subsequent contributions to the development of blood transfusion.

The training course was concentrated on blood haemovigilance, involving the industrial progresses, practical experience sharing, and establishment and management of sentinel sites. Domestic experts and trainees participated in a series of educational activities, to improve their awarenesses in haemovigilance management, professionalism, and practical skills.

Through this training course, it has laid a solid foundation for China’s haemovigilance undertakings, and improved industrial standardization and scientification. It is expected that CSBT will continue to cooperate with blood establishments, medical institutions, and transfusion professionals to safeguard public health and promote the high-quality development of transfusion industry.
