On August 8, 2024, the work exchange meeting for the Public Education and Promotion Group, CSBT, was held in Liaoning. A total of 30 attendees were present at the meeting, including ZHU Yongming, the president of CSBT, DING Wenyi, the group leader, as well as representatives from the CSBT Partnership Program, and staff of CSBT secretariat.

President ZHU recognized the accomplishments of this group in the field of public education and promotion, and expressed anticipation for future advancements. In addition, he indicated that it is the duty of the group to provide voluntary consultation services for the application of the Partnership Program in blood science popularization base, and to offer adequate guidance while maintaining distinct regional characteristics.

DING Wenyi summarized the group’s work of last year, and concluded with 3 major accomplishments: the exhibition of the Partnership Program public education and promotion digital photo album; the organization of training sessions for science popularization lecturers; and the formulation of the guidelines for the design and construction of blood donation science popularization base.

During the meeting, DING also presented the Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Voluntary Blood Donation Science Popularization Venues (Draft). To promote blood donation popularization, this draft has standardized the venue design in various aspects, such as exhibition content, display method, visiting sequence, personnel requirements, and the expansion of social impact. Furthermore, experts will subsequently discuss and refine this draft guidelines.

In the end, DING stated 4 requirements for the group’s future work: to operate and maintain current science popularization bases well; to innovate new path for blood donation popularizing; to enhance communication and exchange between establishments; to participate more in the group activities.
