From April 9 to 11, the 3rd Blood Donation Publicity Training Course, supported by CSBT, co-hosted by CSBT/BDM, Healthmust-Readmagazine, and Bazhong Central Blood Station, was held in Sichuan. A total of over 300 participants attended the training course, and Director Yu Gongyi from the Blood Management Office of the Medical Emergency Department under the National Health Commission was present to provide professional guidance and deliver a lecture.

During the meeting, CSBT President ZHU Yongming noted that blood services are characterized by both professional expertise and social significance. To advance voluntary blood donation, proactive promotional efforts are essential. He proposed that accurate information should be transparently disseminated. Through in-depth research on target population, youthful publicity should be well-designed to improve effectiveness of promotion. Ms. ZHANG Ying, deputy director of Bazhong Municipal Health Commission, presented that the city of Bazhong has achieved consecutive annual growth in blood collection and has been honored as the National Advanced City in Voluntary Blood Donation for 7 terms within 14 years. In addition, DING Wenyi, director of CSBT/BDM, reiterated the importance of publicity. He also identified existing challenges, including inadequate public awareness and the limitations of current publicity methods. Accordingly, a call was made for the adoption of innovative publicity strategies.

During the Training Course, experts delivered lectures on topics such as blood management, innovative practices, donor recruitment, brand construction, as well as AI-driven blood donation publicity. At the conclusion of the course, XIE Chengbing, deputy director of CSBT/BDM, delivered the closing remarks. Participants noted that the training content was comprehensive and practical, which was expected to support future initiatives in blood donation promotion and contribute to the advancement of domestic voluntary blood donation public welfare.
