On April 25th, the first Research and Innovation Conference on Blood Transfusion Medicine, organized by CSBT, was launched in Yunnan. ZHU Yongming, president of CSBT and relevant experts attended the conference along with nearly 300 delegates from 29 provinces. LU Hangjun, chair of CSBT Supervisory Committee, hosted the opening ceremony.

Firstly, president ZHU delivered his welcome to all attendees and expressed gratitude for the support from all aspects. He stressed that transfusion medicine constitutes a pivotal component of modern medical practice. CSBT will uphold its service tenet, intensify the construction of scientific research platforms, and facilitate the development of the industry. Yu Jia, deputy director of the Institute of Blood Transfusion, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, stated that the conference aligns with the national initiative for scientific research and innovation, aiming to establish an open platform, foster cross-disciplinary integration, and propel innovation in transfusion medicine. Furthermore, professor CHENG Linzhao pointed out that blood transfusion, regarded as a crucial cell therapy technique, ought to leverage experiences to facilitate the implementation of blood substitution solutions.

During the conference, 23 experts and young talents shared their latest achievements, and major research institutions reported on their research progress. Participants actively engaged in discussions, demonstrating a spirit of scientific research. Ultimately, LIU Jiaxin, vice president of CSBT, concluded and expressed gratitude to all contributors. He expected that this conference could evolve into an academic brand to promote the development of scientific research and enhance the high-quality advancement of the industry.
