On May 7, 2025 the National Training Course on Continuous Promotion of Haemovigilance (HV), hosted by CSBT, undertaken by CSBT/HV，Chongqing Blood Center, Fujian Blood Center and Zhangzhou Blood Station, was held in Fujian Province. ZHU Yongming, president of CSBT, and HUANG Zhenping, director of Zhangzhou Municipal Health Commission, attended the meeting along with over 200 peers from 27 provinces. Mr. ZENG Jia presided over the opening ceremony.

Firstly, president ZHU noted that HV is the basic guarantee of the blood transfusion chain, as clarified by the updated action framework of WHO and our national policies. Since the establishment of CSBT/HV in 2017, remarkable results can be seen in concept dissemination, standard formulation, and sentinel system establishments. He pointed out that outstanding achievements have been made in Fujian Province in standard formulation and information construction. Furthermore, Director HUANG introduced the working achievement of blood safety in the city of Zhangzhou. He expressed that this training course has acknowledged Zhangzhou’s efforts in HV and will drive future development. XU Yongzhu, director of CSBT/HV, mentioned that despite the achievements already made in HV in China, there is still a pressing need for further refinement.

During this training, a total of 13 experts delivered comprehensive lectures encompassing theories, standards, and risk prevention. Ms. GUO Xiaojie remarked during the closing ceremony that this course not only served as a feast of knowledge but also represented an opportunity for academic exchange. It is anticipated that participants will gain in-depth insights into recent research developments and emerging trends in HV, and will be inspired with greater enthusiasm and innovation.
