On August 26 to 27, 2025, the 16^th Grass-Roots Training Course on Clinical Blood Transfusion was held in Urumqi. The course was jointly organized by CSBT and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Blood Station, aiming to standardize clinical blood transfusion operations in primary medical institutions, promote scientific blood use, strengthen the service capacity of blood establishments, and advance the construction and development of transfusion medicine in primary medical institutions. ZHU Yongming, President of CSBT, officials from the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Health Commission, CSBT council members, along with LI Li, Deputy Director of the Regional Blood Station, and LI Xinfeng, Director of the Urumqi Blood Center, attended the opening ceremony. LI Li presided over the ceremony.

This course has attracted almost 100 participants, including core technical personnel from blood establishments in various regions, directors and physicians of transfusion departments in primary medical institutions. Following this two-day study, the participants have consolidated their foundational knowledge, expanded their professional insights, and achieved significant learning outcomes. 

Since 2016, the Grass-Roots program has been held for 16 consecutive sessions and has benefited nearly 1,000 professionals from transfusion departments as well as blood banks in primary medical institutions. It has contributed to standardizing transfusion technology management and balancing regional development in transfusion medicine nationwide. In the future, CSBT will continue to respond to the national initiatives and further conduct targeted training for more core blood transfusion professionals, thereby contributing to the improvement of clinical transfusion practices in primary medical institutions across China.
