On November 28, the 26th National Conference on Pishu was held in Beijing, hosted by the Social Sciences Academic Press (SSAP) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences(CASS). During the conference, the 16th Outstanding Pishu Awards were announced. And the Blue Book of Blood Collection and Supply Services: Annual Report on the Development of China’s Blood Collection and Supply Industry (2024), compiled by CSBT, won the Third Prize. ZHANG Rongjiang, Editor-in-Chief, attended the conference and the award ceremony on behalf of CSBT and the Editorial Committee.
The China Pishu Award is established by SSAP, and evaluated by the committee composed of authoritative researchers from CASS and other research institutions, representatives of Pishu publishers, and peers from the publishing industry. The Evaluation Committee selects award-winning works from the annually published Pishu through a rigorous three-tier review process, based on multi-dimensional assessments including publication standards, book quality, and social impact. The current Pishu Award is divided into two categories: the Outstanding Pishu Award and the Outstanding New Pishu Award.
The Blue Book of Blood Collection and Supply Services was initiated and first published in 2016, and has been released on an annual basis ever since. In 2019, CSBT took over the compilation of the Blue Book and established a project team to oversee project planning, approve annual writing plans and table of contents outlines, manage the annual budget, and appoint chief editors. In addition, according to the assessment SSAP, the compilation of the Blue Book of Blood Collection and Supply Services is standardized and well-organized, making it the only report in the Pishu series that has been published annually without interruption during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a national social organization in the blood transfusion industry, CSBT has consistently dedicated itself to advancing the standardization of the industry and fostering innovation in academic research. This award not only represents recognition of the society’s professional competence, but also serves as a demonstration of the development achievements of China’s blood transfusion industry.
