The 35th NRL Annual Workshop on Infectious Diseases took place at Melbourne, Australia between October 15 and 18, 2018. Representatives from CITIC attended this workshop.
NRL Annual Workshop is one of the most grand and glorious meetings on infectious disease area. The meeting provides information about policy analysis, clinical practice and new testing technology in related to epidemiology, diagnosis testing, disease prevention and control. It also acts as a communication platform for experts around the world.
The topic of this year workshop was HIV and tropical disease prevention. As for transfusion service, the main discussion was about the quality control during blood screening. Dr. Xun Wang from Shanghai Blood Center (SBC) was invited to give a presentation about Regulation of NAT Screening Assays in China and the Assay Assessment in Blood Bank. Dr. Liqin Huang from Beijing Red Cross Blood Center was also invited to give a presentation about Establishment of Statistical Quality Control Method for Procleix TIGRIS Nucleic Acid Test System.
During the workshop, President of SBC Mr. Taohong Lu visited the NRL and exchanged ideas of further collaboration between SBC and NRL.
