AABB Annual Meeting 2013 held in Denver, USA



The AABB Annual Meeting 2013 was held during Oct. 12th to 15th in Denver, Colorado, USA. Experts and colleagues of transfusion medicine participated in the meeting for sharing state-of-the-art research outcomes covering all aspects of transfusion medicine including management and organization of blood transfusion, blood donation, blood products, blood-borne infection, immunohematology, clinical transfusion, cellular therapies, clinical immunogenetics, as well as the latest findings in relative fields. 


Li Qin, the immunohematologist working on erythrocyte science, and Ren Yana, the scientist of hematological engineering participated in this meeting for better knowledge of latest development of transfusion medicine and communication with colleagues in this field from home and abroad. During the meeting, Li and Ren gave presentations titled “Mouse Erythrocytes Suppressed iNOS Expression in Activated RAY264.7 Macrophages” and “Tolerogenic Dendritic Cells Modified by Tacrolimus Can Induce Immunological Tolerance and Inhibit Collagen-Induced Arthritis in Mice”, respectively. Li and Ren communicated with foreign experts from relative research backgrounds, through which the advanced achievement of Shanghai Blood Center became better known by the outside world.
