WHO Official Dr. Anuj Sharma Visit Shanghai Blood Center

October 30th, Medical Technology Officer for Western Pacific Region, Dr. Anuj Sharma from the World Health Organization visited Shanghai Blood Center in the morning. The guests were welcomed by Director Zhu Yongming and Vice Director Zou Zhengrong.

Dr. Anuj Sharma was invited to attend the China-World Health Organization (WHO) Heamovigilance Consultation which is organized by WHO and sponsored by the Shanghai Blood Center. During his visit, Dr Anuj Sharma discussed about the heamovigilance with experts in relative fields in Shanghai Blood Center, and had a direct understanding about the development and current situation of blood safety management in China.

After watching the introductive video about Shanghai Blood Station, the visiting guests communicated with Dr. Zhu Yongming, as well as staff in the station, about the latest achievement of blood transfusion and haemovigilance in China. The guests also visited the central showroom, the education classroom for knowledge about blood, theNAT laboratory and the whole procedure of blood collection in the center, during which Dr. Anuj Sharma fully confirmed about the effort of SBC for ensuring blood safety.
