The 33th ISBT International Conference was held in Seoul from May 31st to June 5th, 2014. More than 3000 experts, scholars and exhibitors from 83 countries and districts participated in the conference. The latest research achievements in the field of transfusion were shown at the conference, including development on transfusion management and organization, blood donation, blood products, infection, immunohematology, clinical transfusion, cell therapy, clinical immunogenetics, et al.
Shanghai Blood Center deputy director Zou Zhengrong, deputy director of Institution of Blood Transfusion Zhu Ziyan, immunohematology red blood cell group Li Qin participated in the conference. During the meeting, Zou Zhengrong and Zhu Ziyan participated in the working party discussions on blood supply management and RBC antigen terminology, respectively. Zhu Ziyan acted as moderator of the meeting ‘Parallel Session Blood Group Genotyping’. Moreover, Zhu Ziyan and Li Qin made academic speeches on “RHCE ALLELE MATCHING IN ASIA”、“ERYTHROCYTES SUPPRESSED CLASSICAL M1 MACROPHAGES POLARIZATION THROUGH JAK2-STAT1 PATHWAY” respectively. They communicated with foreign experts in relevant areas and made the world a better understanding of the achievements of Shanghai Blood Center in blood transfusion.
During the meeting, Zou Zhengrong and Zhu Ziyan conferred with AABB delegates on cooperation of the eighth round of education course for leadership of blood services, and reached a preliminary consensus on some matters.
