The 27th International Congress of ISBT was held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 17- June 20, 2017. ISBT, the International Society of Blood Transfusion was established in 1935 with the aim to promote blood transfusion medicine research. Experts and scholars from more than 100 countries attended this congress to share advanced concepts and improve global blood transfusion practice. Taohong Lu, President of Shanghai Blood Center , Shumeng An, director of Shanghai Blood Center CPC Office, Bei Xu, Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance, Yana Ren, Head of Blood Screening Laboratory and Juan Sun, Scientist in Department of Blood Engineering, participated in the congress.
The main topics of this congress include: global blood safety, blood donation and blood donors, transfusion therapy, quality management, hematology and immunohematology, clinical blood transfusion, blood components and supply, cellular therapy, etc. During The meeting, Juan Sun delivered a wonderful oral presentation on June 19 and communicates with foreign experts in the related research field. The tile of her presentation was "The Therapeutic Functions and Mechanisms of ex vivo Induced and Expanded Polyclonal Human Stable CD8+ Regulatory T Cells on an Autoimmune Diseases Mice Model: Collagen Induced Arthritis Mice”.
Through participation in this meeting, Shanghai Blood Center enhanced its international influence, learned the latest trends and developments in blood transfusion, and strengthened communication with colleagues in the blood transfusion field from all around the world.
