The Working Party on Blood Quality Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion (hereafter referred to CSBT/BQPC) was established at the 7th session of the 2nd Council Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion (CSBT). This council approved Shanghai Blood Center as a dependent unit, and appointed Zou Zhengrong, director of Shanghai Blood Management Office, as chairman. CSBT/ BQPC has 30 members and 15 youth members. Its main responsibility is to promote the standardization of blood quality construction and to discuss and reach a consensus regarding hot issues with prospective significance or guidance. 

On June 9th, 2017, CSBT/ BQPC Founding Conference and 1st General Assembly was held in Shanghai. Zhu Yongming, chairman of the Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion, delivered a speech and offered congratulatory remarks. Zhu pointed out that CSBT/BQPC shall focus on professionalism, standardization, and creativity, and shall function as a core and leader in the development of a quality field; they shall coordinate well with relevant subjects internally, and also shall communicate well with external institutions and groups both from home and from abroad.  

Six vice-chairmen were also elected in this conference. Meanwhile, the working system for CSBT/ BQPC, work plan and budget for 2017 were also approved. Two well-known experts, Ruan Xiaoming and Qian Kaicheng were hired as consultants for CSBT/ BQPC.
