The 1ST “Training Course on Blood Transfusion Quality Management System" in 2017 was held in Ch



On March 29th, 2017, Shanghai Blood Center (the affiliated site of the Blood Quality Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Blood Transfusion) and Chongqing Blood Center, co-organized the "Training Course on Blood Transfusion Quality Management System".  This training course is a part of the 2017 National Continuing Medical Education Program and was attended by 194 delegates from 95 blood services and hospitals from 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities nationwide.

This course invited Wang Hongjie (Deputy Director of Beijing Red Cross Blood Center), Ge Hongwei (Director of Laboratory, Beijing Red Cross Blood Center), Qian Kaicheng (Director of Research Institute of Transfusion, Shanghai Blood Center,), Xu Zhong (Director of Quality and Regulations Department, Shanghai Blood Center,) and other experts to give lectures.

The contents of this course included risk management for blood centers, legal system for blood collection and supply services in China, joined Internal audit of blood centers, laboratory quality control, establishing quality system in transfusion departments, bacterial detection of apheresis platelets and confirmation testing in donor testing.

This course provided a platform for domestic transfusion colleagues to exchange ideas on transfusion quality management. By enhancing the awareness for quality system and creating a culture of quality and safety, this course will help to promote the concerted development of quality management systems in the transfusion field.

The “Training Course on Blood Transfusion Quality Management System" was started in 2002. It has been held for 26 sessions and attended by over 2,200 trainees.
