On June 12, 2019, the inaugural ride of blood donation theme metro, organized by the Health Commission of Shijiazhuang and Hebei Blood Center, was held in the city of Shijiazhuang to celebrate the 16th World Blood Donor Day(WBDD).

Shijiazhuang had always attached importance to the publicity of blood donation and had won the honor of National Advanced City of Voluntary Blood Donation for 9 times by 2018. This inaugural ride aimed to raise public awareness and concern regarding blood donation and encourage more people to participate in it and create a positive atmosphere.

The metro innovatively explained themes of Gratitude, Sharing, Courage, Love, Life and Hope. With a bright red decoration, a warm and gentle environment was built to exhibit experiences of blood donors, which allowed passengers to know the significance of safe blood transfusion and sustained blood supplies and encourage the enthusiasm for blood donation. Furthermore, passengers could share individual stories of blood donation at WeChat official account of Hebei Blood Center by scanning the QR code on the metro, which forged mutual cultural consensus and optimistic atmosphere of voluntary blood donation.
