On July 2, 2015, the seven experts from Mongolia National Blood Transfusion Medical Center (MNBTMC) came to the Shanghai Blood Center (SBC), began a two-week training in Blood Transfusion Medicine. The team was led by Dr. Namjil Erdemebaray , director of MNBTMC. This is the second time MNBTMC came to SBC for blood transfusion medicine and technical training, while the first time was in 2013 for immunohaematology red blood special training.
The training focused on transfusion infectious disease testing laboratory internal quality control methods and techniques. SBC in accordance with the requirements of the MNBTMC, specially set up training courses and experimental projects. Through the combination of theory and practice, the trainees from SBC introduced how to improve the pathogen detection sensitivity and specificity in the blood, as well as how to develop laboratory quality control standards and quality control techniques .Mongolia colleagues also introduced the current situation of blood banks and blood for clinical use in Mongolia. The two sides in the process of communicate with each other and deepened the understanding, and reached willingness to further cooperation. SBC is the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Blood Transfusion, according to the mandate of the WHO, collaborating centers will provide technical guidance and training of personnel in the region in the field of blood transfusion. In recent years, more and more Asian country blood services came to Shanghai for blood collection and transfusion medicine training. The training not only developed China's neighboring countries transfusion services, but also provided the opportunity for multi cooperation between China and such countries.
