World Blood Donor Day(WBDD) takes place on 14 June each year. The slogan of 2021 WBDD is Give Blood and Keep the World Beating. At 8 p.m. on 14th June, the second light show for WBDD jointly hosted by CSBT and CCTV 5G new media platform was broadcast live on CCTV channel of CSBT website. 57 organizations across 25 provinces attended the event, and thousands of landmark buildings in 50 cities were lit up to express gratitude to blood donors.

From 5:30 p.m., the scenes of blood donation in Shenzhen, Shanghai and other cities were broadcast. From 7:30 p.m., the President ZHU Yongming, host and netizens had a live conversation. Dr. ZHANG Dingyu, Deputy Director of Hubei Provincial Health Commission and Dr. ZHANG Wenhong from Huashan hospital also expressed gratitude to blood donors via videos.

At 8:00 p.m., President ZHU Yongming called out the slogan Give Blood and Keep the World Beating and announced the start of the live light show. During the 90 minutes’ broadcast, the video channel had attracted 60,000 persons, and Wechat Live had received 215,000 times of watching and a total of 138,000 thumbs-up.
