Rh-negative blood donors are called "panda" since their blood type is as rare as species of panda. In Xiaogan, Hubei Province, there are a group of panda blood donors whose promises are "I am willing" and "I am ready" when patients with the same blood type need help.

On the morning of July 18^th, knowing that there’s a blood drive in Huayan Farm in Hanchuan(affiliated to Xiaogan city), XIONG Rong, a local rare blood type donor, and her husband ZHANG Jialiang came to donate 400 mL of blood each. The young couple also filled out the application form of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donation and their blood samples for application were collected during blood donation. 

As a rare blood type donor, it was the first time for XIONG Rong to participate in urgent blood donation. During the Spring Festival this year, she was told that she had a rare blood type after her maiden blood donation with her husband. When she was asked if she would donate blood when someone with the same blood type was in an emergent need, she firmly said: "I am willing!". Blood type is rare, but love is not lacking.

According to statistics, a total of 109 "Panda Heroes" had donated 37,300 mL of blood in the first half year, which effectively ensured the emergency rare blood supply of the city.
