On February 6, the 6^th day of Chinese new year, blood donation site on Xiangyang Square  welcomed its first donor, LIU Xinchen, the director of Zhuzhou Regional Blood Station. Since she took charge of the blood station 8 years ago, her birthday celebrations have been blood donation and volunteer work. “I just do what I should do. Blood donation is a public welfare. In order to improve it, we should not only speak out, but also take the lead.” she said. Under the power of role model, her son has also started his blood donation adventure since his 18^th birthday.

In the year of 2021, a total of 48,358 donors had donated approximate 17 million mL of blood in Zhuzhou, compared with 10 million mL of blood donated by 32,090 citizens in 2021,which showed the endeavor, persistence and development of blood donation and collection over the 8 years under LIU’s leadership.
