On the afternoon of April 13, 2023, the International Exchange Program Colloquium was held by CSBT both online and offline, inviting experts from ISBT working parties to share experience. The special invited expert, Mrs. JI Yanli attended the discussion session, who was a former member of ISBT Younger Council and a current member of Working Party on Red Blood Cell Immunogenetics and Blood Type Terminology, ISBT.
Through on-site discussion and written speeches, experts reported their respective participation in committee activities, along with their individual work plans. Most experts had already attended certain offline meetings hosted by branch committees before COVID period, and kept online contacts with other members to obtain information during the pandemic. Several experts hadn’t been involved in committee work, however, had made international exchanges through paper submission and other methods.
During the colloquium, President ZHU Yongming appreciated all the international exchanges made by experts representing CSBT and domestic peers. With the revitalization of offline international exchanges and activities, he hoped more fields of ISBT would be touched by Chinese experts, thereby benefiting both individuals and CSBT. In addition, it was stated that supports for international exchanges, especially financial assistance, would be provided sustainably by CSBT. And it was hoped that assistance and convenience from blood establishments for their own experts could also be continual.
