On September 14, 2023, the national training course on Continuous Promotion of Haemovigilance was held in Weihai, Shandong Province. 

At the opening ceremony, honorary certificates were awarded to the Excellent haemovigilance Sentinel Units and Excellent haemovigilance Liaison Officers during 2020-2023. Additionally, plaques were awarded to the sentinel units newly joined during 2020-2021 by Working Party on Haemovigilance of CSBT (CSBT/HV). 

The two-day training course including 15 excellent speeches delivered by members of CSBT/HV and experts was attended by nearly 300 participants from 28 provinces. 

The training content covered progresses in blood service development and management, blood quality management, adverse reactions monitoring in blood service from donation to transfusion, risk monitoring of transfusion-transmitted diseases, prevention of newly emerging transfusion-transmitted diseases. It also included haemovigilance topics, such as the role of haemovigilance in blood service, international advances represented by AABB and SHOT, Chinese hemovigilance practice, and experience sharing of sentinel unites.
