On October 17, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Bright Red national speech tour of blood donation excellence was launched in Fuzhou. It was the first stop of the tour, which aimed to meticulously implement the government’s notice spirit, propagate positive energy, and praise the selfless dedication of voluntary blood donors. 

The opening ceremony was directed by the Fujian Provincial Health Commission, the Education Department of Fujian Province, and the Communist Youth League of Fujian Province, organized by CSBT and the Fuzhou Municipal Health Commission, and co-organized by multiple other institutions. The leaders from these departments and institutions were present at the ceremony.

LENG Tingting, the deputy director of the Medical Safety and Blood Management Office from the Medical Emergency Department of the National Health Commission, expressed her respect to blood donors in her speech, and conveyed gratitude to all sectors of the society for their support on voluntary blood donation undertakings. She also emphasized that voluntary blood donation constitutes a crucial action for saving lives, and demands the joint engagement and efforts of the entire society.

ZHANG Guo'an, the deputy director of the Fujian Provincial Health Commission, initially welcomed the touring group, meanwhile, introduced the achievements of voluntary blood donation business in Fujian. He asserted that Fujian province will consistently reinforce the publicity and services in voluntary blood donation, aiming to improve donation experience, sense of attainment, and satisfaction of every donor.

President ZHU Yongming of CSBT, indicated that voluntary blood donation serves as the basis for the blood business and blood safety, calling for participation from all aspects of society. Furthermore, he expected that, via this speech tour, the development of voluntary blood donation could be further promoted, and the great love of blood donors along with the dedication and perseverance of the blood establishments staff could be exhibited. 

Subsequently, leaders on-site jointly launched the 2024 Bright Red national speech tour of blood donation excellence. During the first event, 6 group members respectively presented touching stories of real voluntary blood donors, promoting their healthy, happy and positive spirit, and eliciting the audiences’ resonance and applause.

This year’s tour has been scheduled to persist until November 12. CSBT has assigned 4 groups composed of 23 presenters to carry out 24 events across the nation, through which the advancement of the voluntary blood donation undertaking could be further facilitated, and a vibe of respect and care for blood donors could be established.
