On December 3, the opening ceremony of CSBT science education base on blood transfusion was held in Sichuan, marking the official entry of Chengdu Blood Center into the CSBT Partnership Program. The event was attended by Zhu Yongming, the president of CSBT, HUANG Hui, the deputy director from the Health Commission of Chengdu, and other distinguished guests.

President ZHU extended a warm welcome to Chengdu Blood Center enrolling the program, and recognized its contributions to the public education on voluntary blood donation. He emphasized that blood enterprises constitute a fundamental component of public health initiatives, and that the promotion and education of blood donation are of paramount importance. Launched in 2018, the program is keen on encouraging, assisting and promoting well-prepared members to publicize blood safety, blood transfusion history and typical characters among society and citizens by all forms, thus creating a better atmosphere for voluntary blood donation. Chengdu Blood Center has undertaken a multitude of innovative initiatives in this field and has achieved substantial outcomes.

At the ceremony, Mr. DING Wenyi announced the official decision to enroll the Chengdu Blood Center as a cooperative partner of CSBT. During the construction of the educational base, experts from CSBT conducted an on-site evaluation and provide guidance. They acknowledged the base’s innovations in space design and activity development, and issued professional recommendations.

Additionally, Chengdu Blood Center indicated that it will integrate the experts’ recommendations with practical operations, consistently enhance the interactivity and brand impact of the science education base, attract more voluntary blood donors, and ensure the sufficiency and safety of the clinical blood supply.
