On February 5, the Transfusion Safety and Technology Training Course for Elementary Transfusion Laboratory was held in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It was organized by the Air Force Medical Center, PLA and the Liangshan Prefecture Regional Blood Station, and co-organized by multiple establishments. Renown domestic experts delivered lectures, shared experiences, and discussed the development of blood transfusion safety and technology. CSBT president ZHU Yongming encouraged everyone to take this training course as an opportunity to promote the development of transfusion and safeguard the life and health of the public. In response to the recommendations of CSBT, this course has adopted a educational model that integrates theory with practice, thereby enhancing trainees’ technical skills and trouble-shooting capability.

The training courses encompassed several crucial topics, including ZHU Ziyan’s Blood Transfusion Safety in Elementary Transfusion Labs: From Reagents to Methods, and XIANG Dong’s Understanding the Fundamentals of Blood Coagulation Tests to Enhance Transfusion Safety. The program was designed to address the specific needs of elementary blood transfusion labs. The theoretical sessions provided an in-depth exploration of core knowledge and technical standards related to blood safety. Meanwhile, the on-site experimental teaching and assessment sessions were highly interactive and engaging. Throughout the course, trainees demonstrated a strong commitment to diligent study and active participation, therebuy enhancing their technical proficiency and safety awareness significantly. The training program was successfully completed, achieving its intended objectives.
